One of the greatest female singers to ever grace the world of popular music was silenced in 1983 from causes directly resulting from her affliction with anorexia nervosa. Over 27 years have passed since that shocking friday morning, when the world learned of Karen's death; however, her angelic voice is still ever present world wide. The Carpenters music continues to top the charts in Japan and England, where their soft blend of perfect harmonies have always been well received. Today I celebrate, KAREN CARPENTER.
